This is where you apply and put to practice the voice and performance techniques you learned in your private 1-on-1 lessons. It’s the perfect opportunity to hone your vocal skills and conquer stage fright in a warm and friendly environment! Every class will have a special guest and a new theme! IMPORTANT PREP INSTRUCTIONS in 5 Steps! 1: Pick Songs 2: Find Sheet Music 3: Choose Karaoke Tracks 4: How to Memorize/Mesmerize 5: Instrument Accompaniment Please choose 3x songs total (Don’t forget to check Saturdays Theme!) Song #1 (must be memorized) live instrumental accompaniment sheet music required (please bring printed copy for musician) for feedback and technique Song #2 instrumental, mp3 or karaoke track no feedback Song #3 (just in case, if there is time) instrumental, mp3 or karaoke track no feedback 4 min long, maximum, each To purchase printed sheet music sheet music can be purchased from most music stores like Long & McQuades or online at musicnotes.com or for FREE at the Toronto Public Library you are responsible for printing and bring your own sheet music if you are new to using sheet music then check out my Sheet Music Video Tutorial for detailed instructions. Be sure printed music is clear and easy to read YouTube or instrumental track: purchase and download a clean instrumental track (in your key) at karaokeversion.com or choose a free instrumental/karaoke video on You Tube you may use your phone/mp3 player or send your tracks/links to carolyn@vocaleuphoria.com prior to class tracks must be instrumental/background music only (no lead singer) Please do not use any you tube videos labelled “Karafun”. They always have very faint lead vocals. It’s recommended that you memorize your songs How to memorize a song …FAST! Write out the lyrics while listening to the song without looking at the words. Trust yourself and sing it once without looking at the lyrics (turn the sheet over) Allow yourself to make some mistakes. When you are done singing it once, pick up the lyrics and look for the spots where you forgot the words. Sing it again without looking at the lyrics (turn the sheet over) Repeat this process until all the words are memorized You will be surprised how fast the lyrics and the rhythm sink in! Now find a karaoke track or pick up your favourite instrument and sing along Piano or guitar accompaniment Yes you can play your own instrument if you like but you must perform at least one song without it minimal gear/quick setup/plug and play PA, Speakers and microphone will be provided Musician (pianist or guitarist) provided by Vocal Euphoria Every other Saturday there’s a NEW THEME! Themes can be interpreted in so many ways! it can be a word in the song or… the song can be about the theme topic or… the theme reminds you of a song or… the song implies the theme Be creative but keep it simple Theme suggestions are always welcome! Now, if you want, you can connect with fellow students and perform your songs as a duo or trio! Each song performed as a duo or trio counts as one of your two songs whether you sing backups or lead If you want, you may book a private session as a group to practice. If you purchase(d) a package of private one-on-one sessions then you may use one of those sessions toward your group session.
