About Vocal Euphoria
Vocal Euphoria is a Toronto-based voice and performance coaching practice supporting singers, speakers, and performers who want to be heard β clearly, confidently, and authentically.
The practice serves people who are capable, thoughtful, and often self-directed, yet find themselves stuck when it comes time to speak, sing, or perform. Many clients arrive having already tried to work things out on their own. Vocal Euphoria exists for what comes after that point.
The work recognizes that being heard is not simply a technical issue. It is personal, relational, and internal. Progress comes from clarity, safety, and learning how to work with the voice rather than trying to override it.
Vocal Euphoria offers private coaching, small-group work, workshops, and facilitated programs, both in person and online. While the practice supports beginners and experienced performers alike, it is particularly well suited to people who value depth, honesty, and individualized guidance.
Vocal Euphoria is a founder-led practice. It was created and is led by Carolyn Thompson, whose professional experience as a performer, educator, and coach shapes every aspect of the work.
Origins and Approach
Vocal Euphoria grew out of real-world performance experience and community-based music making.
Its roots trace back to a long-running Monday night Jazz-Funk-R&B open jam at Harlem Restaurant in Toronto β a space where singers of varying experience levels gathered to perform, collaborate, and take risks in front of a live audience. Over time, it became clear that many performers were not lacking talent or commitment, but support, perspective, and a place to develop confidence without pressure.
That experience helped shape the core approach: creating environments where people feel safe enough to explore, clear enough to understand whatβs happening, and supported enough to move forward.
The work avoids one-size-fits-all methods and performative confidence strategies. Instead, it emphasizes trust, consistency, and presence β whether a client is preparing for a performance, a presentation, or an important conversation.
About Carolyn Thompson
Carolyn Thompson is a professional singer, voice coach, performance consultant, and speaker based in Toronto. She is the founder and sole practitioner behind Vocal Euphoria.
Her work is informed by decades of professional experience across live music, stage performance, voice work, media, and education. As a performer, Carolyn has led bands, collaborated across genres, and held long-running residencies at Toronto venues including Harlem Restaurant and Centro Restaurant. These experiences required consistency, leadership, and the ability to hold a room β skills that now inform her coaching practice.
Teaching emerged organically from this performance background. Over time, Carolynβs work expanded beyond singing into public speaking, facilitation, and performance consulting β not as a departure from music, but as an extension of the same underlying work: helping people use their voice with confidence and clarity.
Teaching, Workshops, and Facilitation
Alongside private coaching, Carolyn has taught and facilitated voice and public speaking work in educational, community, and online settings.
Her experience includes workshops and classes with institutions such as Centennial College and Middlefield Collegiate Institute, as well as programs developed in collaboration with community and arts organizations including Urban Arts.
She has also taught public speaking to children through online education platforms such as Creative Club Global and AppleSmart Academy. Working across age groups has reinforced a core principle of her work: clarity matters, and confidence grows when people feel genuinely supported.
Performance, Media, and Direction
Carolynβs professional background includes experience across stage, broadcast media, voice acting, and on-camera work, as well as serving as a voice and performance expert in filmed and broadcast contexts.
She has also worked as a music director for theatre and radio productions, including the Port Hope Radium Radio Hour, contributing to collaborative, performance-based storytelling beyond the studio.
This breadth of experience allows her to support clients navigating nerves, performance readiness, and high-pressure communication with practical, lived insight rather than theory alone.
Speaking and Thought Leadership
In recent years, Carolynβs work has expanded into broader thought-leader spaces, including workshops, interviews, panels, and speaking engagements. She has spoken publicly at TEDx Milton, contributing to conversations about voice, confidence, and communication in wider public forums.
This work reflects a natural progression of her practice, while remaining grounded in one-on-one and small-group coaching.
Training and Professional Background
Carolynβs training includes a Radio and Television Broadcasting Diploma from Seneca College, as well as a Skilled Trade Certificate in Life Coaching (AEC / DEP) from Rhodes Wellness College.
Her approach integrates communication training, coaching practices, and technical understanding shaped by decades of professional performance and teaching experience.
Closing
Vocal Euphoria and Carolyn Thompson are one and the same. The practice reflects the depth of experience, judgment, and care brought to the work.
Clients who find their way to Vocal Euphoria are often capable people who are tired of trying to solve voice and confidence challenges alone. The work offers a place to slow down, be supported, and be heard β with guidance that is grounded, specific, and personal.
If this work resonates, the next step is simple.
