For a long time, I noticed something.
People were doing beautifully in private lessons.
They understood their material.
They were improving technically.
They were gaining awareness.
And then the moment they had to use their voice in front of someone elseโฆ everything shifted.
Not because they werenโt ready.
But because performing is different than practicing.
Private lessons are focused.
Theyโre personal.
Theyโre supportive.
But performing introduces something else:
Presence.
Energy.
Witnesses.
You cannot simulate that alone in a room.
And I didnโt want my studentsโ first real performance to be high-stakes.
I wanted something in between.
Thatโs why I created the Performance Lab.
Itโs not a recital.
Itโs not a showcase.
Itโs not about being impressive.
Itโs a working environment.
A small group.
In my home studio.
Up to four participants.
Everyone gets focused time.
Everyone learns from watching.
Some people bring a song.
Some bring a speech.
Some bring something half-finished.
Thatโs allowed.
The point isnโt polish.
The point is integration.
The Performance Lab gives you a place to:
- try
- adjust
- feel the room
- notice what shifts when others are present
Confidence doesnโt come from waiting until youโre โready.โ
It comes from repetition in real conditions.
Thatโs the gap the Performance Lab fills.
Itโs quiet work.
But itโs powerful work.
