1. ๐ค Watch: Bill Withers โ “Lean on Me” Live Performance
- Note: As you watch, focus on how Bill Withers expresses the emotion of the song. Notice his phrasing and how he conveys the song’s message. Try to bring this feeling into your own singing
2. ๐ถ Lyrics for “Lean on Me”
- Spend time familiarizing yourself with the lyrics, but don’t worry about memorizing them just yet. The goal is to get comfortable with the words and the flow of the song. Pay attention to the verse, chorus, bridge, and outro as you read.
3. ๐ต Practice with the Backing Track
- Use the provided backing track to sing along and get the feel of the song. This is not about perfection; just have fun and get used to the melody!
- Tip: Listen to the backing track a few times before you start singing along. This will help you identify different parts of the song.
4. ๐ฃ New Vocal Vocabulary
- Verse: The main part of the song that tells the story. Each verse usually has different lyrics.
- Chorus: The repeated part of the song that contains the main message and melody.
- Bridge: A contrasting section that brings new musical or lyrical elements to the song.

- Continue practicing Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti Do Ti La Sol Fa Mi Re Do using the exercises we did in class.
- Round Practice: Try singing Do Re Mi in a round with a recording or backing track. This will help you prepare for harmony work in future sessions.
