1. Solfège Practice: “Do Ti Do”
- Review the “Do Ti Do” Solfège exercise we learned in class.
2. Lean on Me – Chorus Completion
- Focus on the Major 3rd harmony we worked on, and start practicing the Perfect 5th harmony . The goal is to be able to sing the full chorus with both harmonies.
- Practice singing along with the attached recordings: SEE WEEK 6
3. Dona Nobis Pacem
- Lock in the melody for Dona Nobis Pacem. Sing through it confidently, paying attention to tuning and phrasing.
4. Continue practicing Interval Identification
- on Earpeggio
5. Practice: Solfège 3’s (Do Re Mi, Re Mi Fa, etc.)
- If you have extra time, start practicing the “3’s” (Do Re Mi, Re Mi Fa, etc.) as an additional warm-up.
6. 🗣 Vocal Vocabulary
- Unison: When all voices sing the same note at the same time.
- Major 3rd: The interval between two notes, where the second note is four half-steps above the first. Example: C to E.
- Perfect 5th: An interval between two notes, where the second note is seven half-steps above the first. Example: C to G.
- Octave: The interval between two notes where the second note is double the frequency of the first, resulting in a higher or lower version of the same note. Example: C to high C.
- Blend: How well voices mix together to create a smooth, unified sound.
- Melody: The main tune or sequence of notes in a song.
- Harmony: Notes sung together with the melody to enrich and complement the sound.Pitch: The highness or lowness of a note.
- Dynamics: The variations in loudness or softness while singing.
- Root Note: The base note in a chord or scale from which harmonies are built.
Remember, every note you sing is a step forward—celebrate the progress, no matter how small!
